Wallet Safety Checklist

Use this before you connect a wallet, buy a new coin, or share any login. Work through it slowly.

My wallet

  • I made a new wallet just for trading, with only money I can afford to lose
  • I wrote my seed phrase on paper and stored it offline
  • I have never typed my seed phrase or private key into a website, app, DM or bot
  • I double-checked the wallet app is from the official store or site

Before I connect or approve

  • I read what I am approving. If it asks for unlimited spending, I stop
  • The site address is the official one (I typed it or used a saved bookmark)
  • I am not connecting to a site someone DMed me or a random reply linked to
  • I revoke old approvals I no longer need (I checked with a revoke tool)

Before I send money

  • I sent a small test amount first
  • I checked the address character by character
  • No one is pressuring me to hurry or promising guaranteed returns
  • I wrote down my exit plan before I bought
Rule of thumb: No real support team will ask for your seed phrase, ever. If someone does, it is a scam. Read more: Avoid Disaster and the Rug Pull Checklist. This is general information, not financial advice.
